Step Inside Our Beautiful New Hamilton Store

Città has a new home in Hamilton. Discover our beautiful store in the vibrant Made precinct, located in the heart of Hamilton East.

The riverside site has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. First known as the Arawa Building, it has played many roles over the decades—from local council offices to a hotel in the 1950s. In 2023, the site entered a new chapter with the opening of Made.

Brought to life by Stark Property, with architecture by Edward White Architects, and interiors by Designwell, the refurbished buildings have been thoughtfully reimagined into a bustling hub for foodies, creatives, and the local community.

To welcome Città to the precinct, our product designer, David Moreland, worked alongside Alexander Wastney from Designwell.

“When the opportunity arose for Città to move into Made, I was immediately curious about how we would create a fitout that honoured both the Made aesthetic and the Città brand,” says David. “Fusing these two identities became the core of the design brief.”

“On my first site visit, it was apparent that Città needed to lean into Made’s cedar market stall framing—a feature that ultimately set the tone for the entire fitout. We anchored the store with a generous central counter and, to some extent, divided the store into two zones.”

The finished result is a store that feels distinctly Città while celebrating the warm character of the building. The space provides an inspiring backdrop to discover Città’s celebrated New Zealand designs—from timeless furniture and lighting to relaxed textiles and home accessories.

 

We look forward to welcoming you at 401 Grey Street, Hamilton East. Open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and Sundays 9am to 4pm. You’ll also find Città stores in Auckland (Grey Lynn, Mt Eden, Takapuna), Wellington, and Christchurch.
